IRONMAN race on September 20, 2015 in Pula
The international triathlon endurance race, popularly known as IRONMAN 70.3 will be held for the first time in Croatia next year, on September 20, 2015 in Pula. IRONMAN is the world’s top large-scale race of this kind, which brings together over 100,000 participants and is held in 58 countries around the world, and Pula is proud to be included in next year’s race schedule.
IRONMAN 70.3 Pula starts at Ambrela beach (Verudela), athletes head straight into the crystal-clear water of the beach that has been awarded a Blue Flag, recognition for very clean beaches and clear blue sea water. The beach is also conveniently located close to Arenaturist accommodation facilities. The three-loop swim altogether measures 1.9 kilometers. After the swim, athletes head out on a one-loop bike course (90 kilometers) – from Pula, passing Loborika, Kanfanar, Rovinj and Vodnjan. The course then heads back to the harbor of Pula and continues with a three-lap run course of almost 22 kilometers through the old town of Pula. The finish of this exceptionally attractive race is in the Arena.
The event will last three or four days, from the arrival of athletes until their departure from Pula after taking a rest from the race. About 2,500 to 3,800 athletes are expected at this race, which is also the final registration limit. All those interested can register through the website: ironman.com.
